Kasper Hogh has passed his medical in London and is now flying to Scotland to finalise his club-record £11 million transfer to Celtic. The Danish international's tests came back clear, clearing the way for the 25-year-old forward to complete the switch from Bodo/Glimt.
Celtic had already agreed a fee with the Norwegian side, and Hogh will sign a four-year deal with an option for a further season. The transfer is funded by the £10 million sale of Daizen Maeda to Ipswich Town. The fee will eventually eclipse the previous club record paid for Belgian international Arne Engels from Augsburg.
Immediate impact expected
Hogh is set to join Martin O'Neill's side for training on Tuesday, ahead of their Premiership opener against Dundee on Monday evening. O'Neill will look for him to replicate his form at Bodo, where he scored 54 goals and provided 22 assists in just over 100 games. He also netted six Champions League goals against Manchester City, Sturm Graz, Atletico Madrid, Inter Milan, and Sporting Lisbon.
Celtic will hope Hogh can make a similar impact to help them reach the group stages of this season's Champions League. He becomes the club's second summer signing after Camilo Duran from Qarabag for around £6 million.
