Arsenal are tracking developments at Manchester City after the club was found guilty of breaching 114 out of 115 Premier League financial rules, a situation that could open the door to a sensational transfer. Over the international break, the position of City striker Erling Haaland has become clear, while the Gunners have also been linked with another star in the last 24 hours.
Haaland's transfer stance revealed
Erling Haaland has been cautiously linked with a move to Arsenal should Manchester City face Premier League expulsion. TEAMtalk suggest the Gunners would evaluate the circumstances should the Norwegian striker become obtainable, reports the Mirror.
Nevertheless, the same outlet reports that the player has not considered departing the Etihad Stadium and remains completely committed to pursuing the Premier League crown this season. Haaland's Norway teammate Kristoffer Ajer insists the prolific striker has remained unaffected by the verdict and isn't contemplating a move.
The Brentford defender revealed: "He's been exactly the way he's always the same with the national team. He's truly focused on the upcoming games. I think he's trying to do the same as everyone else, wait and see what the outcome is...that's clearly been his way of doing it."
He added: "The biggest compliment I always give is that he hasn't changed a bit from the moment I met him even though he's the biggest star on the planet right now. He's been exactly the same the last few days as well which is not a surprise for me."
£9m Brazilian target identified
Arsenal have reportedly joined Chelsea and City in tracking Vasco da Gama prospect Breno Sales. The 16-year-old has caught the eye of clubs across Europe, with an offer of nearly £9million recently turned down, according to reports in Brazil.
The defender started his journey as a striker before converting to left-back and subsequently moving into a more central role. This year, Sales has featured 17 times and found the net once.
He claimed the U17 Copa do Brazil last year and has established himself as a regular fixture in Brazil's youth international setup. The teenager is anticipated to feature in the forthcoming U17 World Cup in Qatar next month.
