Alejandro Garnacho claimed he is enjoying football again after making his Aston Villa debut, appearing to take a swipe at former club Chelsea. The 22-year-old winger featured in a 3-1 victory over Indonesia All Stars as Unai Emery's side ran out winners.
Garnacho joined the Europa League holders on a season-long loan with a conditional obligation to buy for £43 million if Villa trigger the clause. After the match, he took to social media and wrote: "First start after three months. Happy to be enjoying football again. One percent every day. Thanks Indonesia."
Surplus at Stamford Bridge
Xabi Alonso made the attacker surplus to requirements after being appointed permanent manager at Chelsea. Garnacho, who left Manchester United under a cloud last summer, has now been at the centre of another bitter departure from a club.
