Crystal Palace Target January Moves for Man City's Bobb & Spurs' Johnson
Crystal Palace Eye Bobb & Johnson in January Transfer Window

Crystal Palace are preparing for a significant January transfer window, with manager Oliver Glasner keen to bolster his squad. The Eagles have identified two Premier League talents as primary targets: Manchester City's Oscar Bobb and Tottenham Hotspur's Brennan Johnson.

Palace's Premier League Shopping List

The South London club is actively seeking reinforcements in several key areas. With defender Daniel Muñoz sidelined by injury, a new right-back is a priority. Additionally, Glasner is pushing for a new striker and a midfielder to strengthen the team's core. The pursuit of Bobb and Johnson signals an ambitious intent to recruit proven top-flight talent.

Oscar Bobb, the 22-year-old Norwegian international, has recently returned to Manchester City's first-team picture. However, his progress was hampered by a hamstring injury sustained against Brentford. Despite this setback, his availability has attracted attention. Manchester City are reportedly open to considering offers for the young winger, and Crystal Palace are among several clubs monitoring the situation closely.

Spurs Forward in the Frame

The other name high on Palace's wishlist is Tottenham's Brennan Johnson. The 24-year-old Welsh international, who joined Spurs from Nottingham Forest for £47 million, has found game time limited this season, featuring in just six Premier League matches. Tottenham's apparent willingness to discuss a move stems from their desire to generate funds for their own attacking reinforcements, with Brentford's Thomas Frank a potential beneficiary.

Johnson is expected to weigh up his options as the window progresses, but Selhurst Park is seen as a viable destination. Palace's hierarchy believes a deal could be feasible next month.

The Wider Transfer Ripple Effect

The potential movements of Bobb and Johnson are part of a larger chain reaction in the market. Tottenham maintain a strong interest in Bournemouth forward Antoine Semenyo. The Cherries could allow the 25-year-old to leave for a fee of £60 million plus £5m in add-ons in January, though his release clause is set to drop to around £50 million in the summer.

Semenyo's situation is being watched by a host of top clubs. Manchester United renewed their interest earlier this week, while Manchester City are considered leading contenders. Liverpool are also in the mix but are assessing Mohamed Salah's future before making any decisive moves.

Meanwhile, Crystal Palace have also cast their net to France, showing interest in Auxerre's Kevin Danois as they look to secure multiple signings early in the window to satisfy their manager's demands.
