Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp expressed satisfaction with his team's performance after a 4-1 friendly victory against AC Milan on Friday. Goals from Mohamed Salah, Thiago Alcantara, and a brace from Darwin Nunez secured the win in their final pre-season friendly before competitive action resumes.
Speaking to Liverpool's official media, Klopp described the performance as 'super dominant', noting only a minor setback when Milan scored shortly after a drinks break. He praised the midfield connection and build-up play, saying, 'We played a really good game. I liked how our midfield was connected, I liked our build-up.'
The match also provided valuable minutes for younger players, including Bobby Clark, Stefan Bajcetic, Mel Frauendorf, and 17-year-old Ben Doak. Klopp highlighted their contributions, stating, 'When you bring on the kids in the second half... it's really cool to see.'
With the World Cup concluded, Liverpool face a busy schedule, starting with a Carabao Cup clash against Manchester City. Klopp indicated that decisions on the availability of Jordan Henderson and Trent Alexander-Arnold would be made closer to the match. Liverpool are defending the Carabao Cup after defeating Chelsea in last year's final.
