Bayern Munich Make Approach for Liverpool Winger Luis Diaz

Bayern Munich sporting director Max Eberl has held discussions with Luis Diaz over a potential summer transfer from Liverpool. The 28-year-old Colombian winger is reportedly weighing up his long-term future at Anfield after the Reds' Premier League title triumph.

German outlet Bild reports that Eberl made a 'concrete approach' to Diaz on behalf of the newly crowned Bundesliga champions. The two parties 'discussed specific figures' regarding personal terms, though no agreement has been reached. Diaz's current contract with Liverpool runs until 2027.

Bayern are in the market for a wide forward after missing out on Florian Wirtz, who joined Liverpool. They have also been linked with Manchester United's Marcus Rashford, while deals for Jamie Gittens and Nico Williams have fallen through, with Williams seemingly headed to Barcelona.

Speculation about Diaz's future intensified last month when his partner, Gera Ponce, posted a message on Instagram that appeared to thank Liverpool fans for their support. She wrote: 'To the incredible Liverpool fans. From the first day we arrived, we felt first hand what it means to be a part of this club... Thank you for so much love, for so much dedication and for making us feel at home.'
