Arsenal have finalised a £26 million deal to sign Leandro Trossard from Brighton, with an initial £21 million fee plus £5 million in add-ons. The 28-year-old Belgium international has agreed a long-term contract and is awaiting a medical.
Trossard's move comes after Arsenal missed out on Mykhaylo Mudryk to Chelsea. The winger had fallen out with Brighton manager Roberto De Zerbi, who dropped him last week and criticised his attitude in training. Trossard's agent, Josy Comhair, accused De Zerbi of humiliating his client, stating that a transfer was the most convenient solution.
Trossard joined Brighton from Genk for about €15 million in 2019 and has since scored 25 goals with 13 assists in 116 Premier League appearances. He primarily plays as a left-winger.
Meanwhile, Chelsea have a deal for PSV Eindhoven's Noni Madueke for €40 million (£35 million) and are considering a loan for a defensive midfielder, as Brighton's Moisés Caicedo may be too expensive. West Ham have agreed a £15 million deal for Aston Villa striker Danny Ings, with personal terms nearly settled. Nottingham Forest have also concluded a loan deal for Newcastle's Chris Wood with an obligation to buy.
