Arsenal completed five senior signings and nine outgoings this summer, but one deal remains unfinished: Gabriel Martinelli's £55.7m move to Saudi Pro League side Al-Hilal. The transfer is awaiting the Saudi Arabian Football Federation's domestic deadline of September 6, with FIFA's calendar listing the window until October 12.
Five arrivals for £201.5m
The Gunners entered the summer as Premier League champions for the first time in 22 years, spending a total of £201.5m. Their first move was making Piero Hincapie's loan permanent for £37.5m after he started 20 league games last season. Goalkeeper Illan Meslier arrived on a free transfer following his Leeds United contract expiry.
Christos Tzolis joined for £34m from Club Brugge, registering two assists in the Community Shield and starting wins over Coventry City and Aston Villa. Bruno Guimaraes arrived from Newcastle for £75m, adding quality to Arteta's midfield. Ezri Konsa completed the incomings with a £55m move from Villa in August.
Nine departures and Martinelli's pending exit
Confirmed exits include Karl Hein to Werder Bremen (£2.5m), Leandro Trossard to Besiktas (£17m), Jakub Kiwior to Porto (£14.7m), Christian Norgaard to Everton (£7m), Gabriel Jesus to Barcelona (£12m), Fabio Vieira to Hamburger SV (£7.7m), and Ethan Nwaneri's loan to Borussia Dortmund. Reiss Nelson was released, and Tommy Setford left on loan to Stevenage.
Martinelli's move to Al-Hilal would make him Arsenal's most expensive-ever departure. The deal is expected to complete once the Saudi federation's deadline passes.
