Arsenal are bracing for a potential transfer tussle with Real Madrid over Martin Zubimendi, while the club has made its stance clear on Gabriel Martinelli's future.
Zubimendi's uncertain future
Spanish outlet Mundo Deportivo reports that Real Madrid may look to exploit Zubimendi's "uncertain" situation at the Emirates Stadium following the arrival of Bruno Guimaraes. The La Liga side could turn their attention to the Arsenal midfielder after missing out on Manchester City's Rodri.
Chelsea are also reportedly interested in the 27-year-old, who started 34 league games for Mikel Arteta's side last season. Mundo Deportivo claims Arsenal would demand a minimum of £77m for the Spain international.
Arsenal signed Zubimendi from Real Sociedad last summer for £55m, beating Madrid to his signature. Since then, he has won the Premier League and the World Cup with Spain.
Martinelli stays put
Arsenal have made their position on Gabriel Martinelli clear following an approach from Galatasaray. The 25-year-old scored 11 goals in all competitions last term but managed just one in the Premier League.
football.london reports that Martinelli remains part of Arteta's plans, and the club is unlikely to allow him to join the Turkish side while they continue their hunt for a potential signing. However, should they secure a new forward, an exit could be possible.
The Brazilian faces fresh competition on the left flank from new signing Christos Tzolis, who has impressed in pre-season after joining from Club Brugge.
