Steve Jones has highlighted ZIGAZIG AH (3.37) as a strong each-way bet in the Weatherbys Super Sprint at Newbury on Saturday. The filly, trained by Richard Spencer, is expected to thrive in the big-field sprint over 5f.
Zigazig Ah's Form and Prospects
Zigazig Ah comes into the race after two solid efforts over 6f. She finished a close second on Lingfield's all-weather track in her debut and then won a fillies' maiden at Yarmouth three weeks later. She showed plenty of speed in both races and was well on top when winning last month. Although she clearly stays 6f, there is a good chance she will be even better over today's shorter distance. Her low weight is also an advantage. Jones recommends 1pt each-way at 18-1, with many bookies paying out on five places.
Market Rasen Tips
At Market Rasen, HIGH FIBRE (2.10) is a notable runner in the Betway Summer Handicap Hurdle. He ran a decent race on the Flat at York last week, finishing third on his first start since joining in-form trainer James Owen. That run should set him up nicely for a return to hurdling. While he became disappointing for Harry Fry, he was capable of decent form on his day, especially on good ground as shown when winning at Kempton in March. A change of scenery could rejuvenate him, and his new trainer has a strong record with horses that have lost their way. He wore no cheekpieces on his Flat outing and now tries a visor for the first time. Jones suggests 1pt each-way at 12-1, with several firms offering four places.
Breizh River in the Summer Plate
BREIZH RIVER (2.45) has been progressive since joining Tristan Davidson and has sound claims in the Betway Summer Plate. He has won three times from nine starts since joining his current trainer last autumn, with the most recent victory coming at Cartmel three weeks ago, where he showed a great attitude in the closing stages. He is likely to be the pacesetter and may be hard to catch. Jones recommends 1pt each-way at 10-1, with many bookies going four places.
