Scotland supporters are determined not to allow strict train journey requirements to spoil their enjoyment of the second World Cup match against Morocco on Friday.
The Massachusetts Bay Transportation Authority has allocated fans a designated train to catch, lest they face potentially missing the game all together.
The authority has given fans a boarding group time to and from the match, which will be held at Foxborough’s Gillette Stadium with a kick-off of 6pm local time – 11pm in the UK.
Fans have been strongly encouraged to check their boarding group allocation and warned to arrive on time.
Scotland fans are unwavered by their designated time-slots for trains to Foxborough. They have been split into five groups from A-E.
Andrew Hughes, 24, said: “We got the train for the last game, security all around the block, we were thinking we wouldn’t make it but we made it in plenty of time for kick-off.
“But for the (Morocco) game, we’re quite worried that because of certain time slots, we might not make it.
“For the way back last time, we had absolutely no chance.
“We didn’t get home until about 3.30am, so I think we’re looking at the same this time unfortunately, and with the extra price which, it’s been bumped up to 80 dollars (£60), we’re going to have to deal with it.”
Friends Adam Quinn, 25, Jack Patton, 22, and Niall Sweeney said they were not fussed about the time slots.
Mr Quinn said: “Being here is the main thing. We’re here now and we’re loving it.”
Asked if they were worried about whether they would make their time slot, they all replied in unison “absolutely mate”, joking that they do not plan on sleeping.
Mr Sweeney added: “All that matters is we’re going to win the World Cup.”
