The first Manchester derby of the 2026/27 Premier League season has been handed a new date and kick-off time, with Manchester United hosting Manchester City on Sunday, 13 September at 4.30pm. The match was originally provisionally scheduled for Saturday, 12 September at 3.00pm but has been moved for television coverage, as confirmed by the Premier League's broadcaster picks for matchweeks 2-5.
Revised Schedule for United's First Five Games
Manchester United's entire opening five-match schedule has been altered following the TV picks announcement. The season begins with an away trip to newly-promoted Hull City on Saturday, 22 August at 12.30pm. United then host Ipswich Town at Old Trafford on Sunday, 30 August at 4.30pm, followed by a visit to Everton's Hill Dickinson Stadium on Sunday, 6 September at 2pm. After the derby, United travel to Fulham on Sunday, 20 September at 4.30pm.
All Games Moved for Broadcast
According to the Premier League, all of United's matches in matchweeks 2-5 have been rescheduled. The clash with Ipswich was moved from Saturday to Sunday, the Everton game shifted to a Sunday afternoon, and the Fulham fixture also takes place on a Sunday. The derby itself, as expected, was moved to the Sunday for live TV coverage.
