Garner vs Magnesi: UK Start Times, Live Stream, TV Channel

British super-featherweight Ryan Garner is determined to give his beloved Southampton positive headlines when he achieves a long-term goal of fighting at St Mary’s tonight. Garner first made his pledge to box at Saints’ home back in 2017 and is about to make the dream a reality, but it occurs at a time when Southampton are still reeling from the ‘Spygate’ scandal. Southampton boss Tonda Eckert earlier this month accepted full responsibility after the Championship club were caught spying on Middlesbrough and subsequently thrown out of the play-offs before the final at Wembley.

Garner will take on Michael Magnesi for the interim WBC super-featherweight world title and here, we have everything you need to know about tonight's fights.

Quotes corner

Ryan Garner: "I can’t thank Frank Warren enough. A lot of promoters would have washed their hands with me and forgot about me, but he’s always believed in me. Frank stuck with me, backed me and has delivered on all parts. He said many years ago he would make the fight at St Mary’s and he’s stuck to his word. Through the ups and the downs, it just goes to show even if you’re having a bad day, you need to get through it because there are always good days ahead. I believed in myself, I knew it would happen and I knew what I was capable of. I have said I am destined to fight at St Mary’s and destined to become Southampton’s first world champion. I have always had that in the back of my head that it is destiny. Destiny awaits now."

Michael Magnesi: "I'm happy to be here and I'm very excited for this fight. They say I'll be in the lion’s den, but he will be in the wolf's den. There's so much respect, he’s a good guy, but on Saturday we will fight and it is a dream for Ryan and it will stay a dream."
