Arsenal will kick off the 2026-27 Premier League season as defending champions, hosting newly-promoted Coventry City at the Emirates Stadium on Friday, August 21. The match will be a standalone season opener before the rest of the weekend's fixtures.
Early Season Challenges
Mikel Arteta's side then travel to Aston Villa before a London derby against Chelsea at the Emirates. Key fixtures include a trip to Anfield on October 31 and a home clash with last season's nearest challengers Manchester City on November 28.
North London Derbies
The first North London derby takes place at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on December 5, with the return fixture at the Emirates on May 1. All dates after the opening day are subject to change due to television selections.
Title Defence Ambitions
Arsenal ended a 22-year wait for the title last season, finishing seven points clear. The signings of Viktor Gyokeres, Martin Zubimendi, Eberechi Eze, Noni Madueke, Cristhian Mosquera and Piero Hincapie proved pivotal. Gyokeres scored 14 league goals, while Eze and Bukayo Saka added seven each. Set pieces accounted for 25 of their 71 goals.
Arteta is prioritising a new left winger this summer, with sporting director Andrea Berta working to strengthen the squad further. The Gunners also aim to improve on their Champions League final defeat to Paris Saint-Germain on penalties.
