McGregor and Holloway Set for Welterweight Rematch at UFC 329
Conor McGregor makes his long-awaited return to the octagon at UFC 329 this weekend, headlining a card that also features Paddy Pimblett. The event takes place on Saturday, July 11, 2026, at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada.
McGregor faces Max Holloway in a welterweight bout, 13 years after their first meeting at featherweight on the prelims of UFC Fight Night: Shogun vs Sonnen. At that time, a young McGregor won by decision in just his second UFC outing. The Irishman has not fought since August 2021, when he suffered a gruesome leg break in the first round of his trilogy fight against Dustin Poirier at UFC 264.
McGregor, who turns 38 next week, was initially scheduled to return at UFC 303 two summers ago but withdrew from a clash with Michael Chandler due to a toe injury. Now he meets Holloway, a former featherweight champion who lost the ceremonial BMF title to Charles Oliveira at UFC 326 in March after an unforgettable last-second knockout of Justin Gaethje in his previous fight. Holloway, 34, steps up to welterweight for the first time in his career.

Co-headlining UFC 329 is Liverpool favorite Paddy Pimblett, who looks to bounce back from his first UFC defeat—a loss to Justin Gaethje at UFC 324 in January. He faces France's Benoit Saint Denis, the No. 5-ranked lightweight contender, who is on a four-fight winning streak with knockouts over Dan Hooker and Beneil Dariush.
