Jack Hendry set for Scotland recall against Slovenia

Jack Hendry is set for an instant Scotland recall. The defender is expected to return against Slovenia at Hampden tonight.

The 31-year-old will come back from suspension after his sending off in last Tuesday's home defeat to Switzerland. Hendry is set to come in for Scott McKenna, who is now serving a one-match suspension after his late sending off in Saturday's win over North Macedonia.

Pocognoli sticks with back three

National coach Sebastien Pocognoli is expected to stick with his three-man defence for this evening's game. Luis Binks and Stephen Welsh are expected to complete the back line.

Hendry was red carded just minutes into the Hampden clash with the Swiss defeat for pulling back Dan Ndoye. It was initially given as a penalty but VAR intervened, stating the foul had been outside the box and saw Hendry issued with a red card.

Switzerland defeat and group implications

Switzerland then went and scored from the free-kick to make it 1-0 and went on to win convincingly 3-0. Pocognoli is looking to secure back-to-back wins after his team got off the mark in Skopje.

Scotland opened up with a goal-less draw in the Nations League with a draw away to Slovenia. The Al-Ettifaq defender was a central figure in that result and was a big factor in him getting the nod for this match.

Scotland sit third in Group E. Slovenia are above Scotland on goal difference but a victory for Scotland would see them jump into second spot behind Switzerland.
