Wales Women rounded off an impressive summer with a second consecutive victory over Japan, easing to a 29-5 win in Kumagaya City.
Sean Lynn's side built on last week's 17-0 victory with a comprehensive triumph that followed a defeat against a strong USA last month. Prior to this summer's WXV series, Wales had lost nine matches in a row.
Back-to-back wins
Two tries from winger Amy Williams and scores from Nel Metcalfe, hooker Kelsey Jones and prop Sisilia Tuipulotu secured the job in Japan, as Wales won back-to-back matches for the first time since 2024.
Wales co-captain Kate Williams said: "We played some exciting attacking rugby, especially in that first-half to get a few of our tries."
Defensive display
Williams added: "I'm really proud of the set piece as well. I think what slowed down our momentum was our discipline and we let Japan back into the game a little bit in that second-half."
"But really proud of the defensive effort that we showed, especially with those two yellow cards. There was some real grit and determination behind that."
Six Nations next
Wales' next match will see them host world champions England in the Six Nations at the Principality Stadium.
