SARANGPUR (5.28, NAP) can complete an 18-day hat-trick for trainer Richard Hughes at Kempton on Wednesday evening. The gelding joined Hughes in June after earning his handicap mark over 1m to 1m2f on soft ground in Ireland. Upped to 1m4f on quicker going at Brighton, he scored easily by six lengths on debut for his new connections. At Epsom last week, he won again by three and three-quarter lengths.
Apprentice Race Opportunity
Hughes appears to have found another winning opportunity for the four-year-old in an all-weather handicap for apprentices. Though Sarangpur is 10lb higher in the handicap, Toby Moore's 3lb claim is a valuable asset. Toby is the son of champion jockey Ryan Moore.
Ataturk at Chepstow
Later at Chepstow, the lightly raced ATATURK (8.46) can get off the mark in the 1m4f handicap. The son of Golden Horn showed little in his first three starts but came close to winning on his handicap debut at Ffos Las last month, beaten a nose in a sustained duel. Hughie Morrison's charge should build on that effort, reappearing nine days later on the same handicap mark.
