Mirra Andreeva in Tears After Wimbledon Second-Round Exit
Mirra Andreeva Cries at Wimbledon Press Conference After Loss

Mirra Andreeva was in tears during her post-match press conference at Wimbledon after suffering a shock second-round defeat. The No. 5 seed, one of the tournament favourites, lost 4-6, 7-5, 6-4 to two-time Grand Slam champion Barbora Krejcikova, who won Wimbledon in 2024.

Emotional Fallout

Andreeva, 19, immediately threw her racket to the side of the court in frustration after sending a ball long on match point. She quickly left the court and arrived at the press conference about 30 minutes later, visibly emotional.

When asked how she would process the loss, Andreeva said, through tears: “Well, I think of course I'm going to need a couple days.” She declined a pause offered by a reporter, adding: “Sorry. Yeah, it's going to take some time, maybe a couple of days, and then I'm going to be back to practice for hard courts. I don't know what my next tournaments are going to be. I still need to talk to my team to see where I'm going to play next.”
