David Gray Eyes Hibs Return for John Potter

David Gray is lining up a Hibs return for John Potter as he bolsters his backroom team. Record Sport understands the former Dunfermline Athletic and Kelty Hearts boss is under consideration for a first-team coaching role.

Potter's Previous Stint at Hibs

Potter has been No. 2 at Hibs previously to Jack Ross. That was when Gray first worked under Potter. Gray’s current team includes assistant head coaches Liam Craig and coach Eddie May.

Coaching Experience

The 46-year-old has a wealth of coaching experience. Potter was at Livingston until the end of the season but is now set to switch to Easter Road. He was the technical director at Raith Rovers before leaving that position at the end of last season. Potter has also been first-team coach at Sunderland. He was in charge at Kelty Hearts before going to Rovers.

Pre-Season Preparations

Hibs will aim to finalise things before they return for pre-season in a couple of weeks. The Easter Road outfit has to prepare for the Europa Conference League qualifiers. They will find out their opponents next Wednesday. Hibs are due back for pre-season training on June 22, excluding those on international duty or at the World Cup finals.

The capital side has already organised a number of friendlies and has a training camp in Dublin. They play Shamrock Rovers on June 30th, a closed-door game with Porto on July 11th and a home game against Brondby on July 18th.
