Celtic legends team with Ryder Cup stars at Scottish Open

Sir Kenny Dalglish, Scott Brown and Ryan Christie will team up with Ryder Cup heroes Shane Lowry and Tyrrell Hatton at the Genesis Scottish Open Pro-Am, creating a strong Celtic connection at the Renaissance Club. The three footballing icons will play together in the annual 18-hole competition, where professionals and amateurs form teams.

Pro-Am Pairings and Schedule

The trio will start at 9:50am from the first tee with Irishman Shane Lowry, who holed the winning putt for Europe in the 2025 Ryder Cup at Bethpage. After nine holes, English star Tyrrell Hatton will replace Lowry as the professional partner. Hatton earned the extra half point that secured Europe's outright victory in New York last September.

Celtic Greats on the Course

Sir Kenny Dalglish, who revealed last month he is undergoing cancer treatment, is a keen golfer and Celtic legend before his move to Liverpool. He scored 30 goals in 102 Scotland caps and managed both clubs. Hatton, a Liverpool fan, is expected to enjoy the link-up. Scott Brown, former Celtic captain with numerous trophies, played in last year's event with Steven Whittaker. Ryan Christie, a Scotland World Cup star, won three league titles and two Scottish Cups at Celtic before joining Bournemouth.
