Olympic gymnastics icon Simone Biles led a festive celebration aboard a private jet on Thanksgiving night, travelling with fellow Chicago Bears partners to watch their husbands play in a landmark NFL game.
A Festive Journey to Philadelphia
The 11-time Olympic medalist documented the entire boozy excursion on her Instagram, sharing a series of photos and videos from the flight to the east coast. The group was en route to Philadelphia to watch the Bears take on the reigning Super Bowl champions, the Eagles, in the NFL's sole Black Friday game.
Biles, who is married to Bears safety Jonathan Owens, showcased the jet's interior, which had been lavishly decorated in the team's colours. Custom balloons representing the players' respective jersey numbers added a personal touch to the travelling party.
Champagne and High Spirits at 30,000 Feet
The WAGs wasted no time in getting the celebrations started, immediately popping champagne bottles once airborne. Biles, 28, appeared in a particularly jubilant mood, sharing numerous images throughout the journey.
Her festive spirit continued even after landing, where the gymnastics legend was filmed performing the splits on the tarmac while expertly holding a bottle of tequila.
Beyond the Flight: Biles' Personal Life
The trip underscores the strong bond between Biles and Owens, whom she met on the celebrity dating app Raya in 2020. The couple celebrated their second wedding anniversary this past April, and Biles has been a constant and supportive presence at his NFL games this season.
In a recent personal revelation, Biles shared details about undergoing breast augmentation surgery in June. She confessed on TikTok that the recovery was far more painful than she had anticipated. 'You all lied, this s*** hurts so bad,' she said, explaining that her husband, Jonathan, had to physically lift her out of bed for the first few days.
Despite initial panic about the results, Biles now says she is thrilled with the outcome, declaring the implants 'perfect.'
Professionally, Biles remains at the pinnacle of her sport. She was utterly dominant at the 2024 Paris Olympics, securing gold medals in the team, all-around, and vault competitions. In a tantalising hint for sports fans, she has not ruled out competing at the 2028 Los Angeles Games, telling a conference in Australia, 'Never say never.'
