Aston Martin Bans Sky Germany From F1 Coverage

Aston Martin have refused to grant interviews to Sky Germany following what the team perceives as unbalanced reporting, Express Sport understands. The decision came after the broadcaster's recent critical coverage, particularly regarding driver Lance Stroll's comments after the British Grand Prix.

According to German newspaper BILD, Sky Germany's request to speak to chief trackside officer Mike Krack ahead of the Hungarian Grand Prix was declined. Owner Lawrence Stroll also rejected a live on-air conversation. Sky Germany pundit Ralf Schumacher explained to viewers: 'I know they’re not giving us any more interviews because they don’t like us that much at the moment.' Co-pundit Peter Hardenacke added: 'We were a bit too critical of the people at Aston Martin.'

The dispute stems from Stroll's remarks after the British GP, where he described his car as 'the worst piece of s**t I’ve ever driven in my life' despite finishing seventh. Schumacher criticised the comments on the Backstage Boxengasse podcast, calling them 'very disappointing' and 'a question of manners', and urged Stroll to apologise to the team.

Aston Martin have limited access for Sky Germany to drivers and team personnel until more balanced reporting occurs, though conversations between the two parties are ongoing. Sky Germany will still be able to speak with Aston Martin personnel during open media sessions on Thursdays in the paddock.
