Wales Press Conference Live: Dewi Lake Fitness Update Ahead of South Africa
Wales Press Conference: Dewi Lake Fitness Update Before Springboks

Wales have arrived in Durban ahead of their final Nations Championship fixture of the summer against back-to-back world champions South Africa. Saturday's defeat to Argentina in San Juan has dampened spirits following their opening victory over Fiji, with Steve Tandy's side second best against Los Pumas. Things will only get tougher when they take on the Springboks this weekend, after another arduous journey.

Dewi Lake's Fitness in Doubt

The last time Wales faced South Africa, they were beaten 73-0 in Cardiff at the end of Tandy's first campaign. After two weeks of brutal travel, keeping the scoreline down will be a challenge, especially with South Africa having scored 45 points against England and 42 against Scotland in recent weeks. As well as the daunting task of facing Rassie Erasmus' side, Wales are sweating on the fitness of their captain, Dewi Lake. Lake limped off in the second half of the 35-21 defeat on Saturday with a groin injury, prompting Dragons hooker Elliot Dee to be flown in as cover.

Press Conference Updates

Wales are holding a press conference today, where an update on Lake's fitness is expected. The conference will be covered live below. Stay tuned for the latest developments as Wales prepare for a tough test in Durban.
