Norris signs new McLaren contract until 2030 despite rival interest

Formula 1 world champion Lando Norris has signed a new contract with McLaren, committing his future to the team until at least 2030. The deal comes despite reported interest from rival teams following his championship success.

Norris: 'I don't want to go anywhere'

Norris acknowledged that there was interest from elsewhere in his services but said he 'didn't even have a look' before signing his new deal. "There was some interest from elsewhere but I don't want to go anywhere," he said after signing.

"I don't want to be with another team. I don't want to spend time with other people. That's why it really was probably one of the easiest decisions I've made since being in Formula 1."
