Strictly Come Dancing contestant La Voix has revealed she kept her foot injury a secret because she feared it would end her time on the BBC ballroom show. The RuPaul's Drag Race UK star was forced to withdraw from the competition last month ahead of the Blackpool special after suffering a fractured metatarsal.
Appearing on ITV's Loose Women on Wednesday, La Voix said she had been in pain for two weeks but did not want to tell anyone. 'I've basically got a... I haven't really told anyone what I've done. It's all been very secretive... I have got a fractured metatarsal,' she said.
La Voix, who was paired with professional dancer Aljaz Skorjanec, explained that she injured her foot during the Foxtrot week. 'I did two weeks on the show, not knowing I'd broken my foot. I didn't want to tell anyone. I was in so much pain, but I knew that it might be the end of the line,' she said.
The star admitted she had been 'devastated' to leave the show. 'I bawled my eyes out in that rehearsal room when I realised I was not going to be able to carry on,' she told the Loose Women panel. La Voix also revealed that she had received a comment from judge Shirley Ballas about being 'flat-footed' during her Couple's Choice routine, but was unable to explain the injury at the time.
