Henderson Broken Arm: Guehi Gives Recovery Update

Marc Guehi has revealed that Jordan Henderson is expected to make a 'speedy recovery' after suffering a broken arm while celebrating England's 3-2 victory over Mexico in the World Cup round of 16. The midfielder sustained the injury when he lost his footing while climbing over advertising boards at the Azteca Stadium.

Injury Details and Immediate Aftermath

Henderson was left in significant pain and required oxygen as he left the pitch on a stretcher before being transported to hospital. He is set to miss the remainder of the World Cup and will need surgery, but he will remain with the England squad until their tournament concludes.

Speaking on the Lions' Den show, Guehi said: "Hendo's a good man, he's in a better place than he was yesterday. It was obviously scary for him and his family and for everyone else, but we're just glad that he's on the road to a speedy recovery."

England's Dramatic Win

The former Liverpool captain was an unused substitute in the dramatic last-16 clash, where Harry Kane's penalty on the hour mark and a brace from Jude Bellingham secured a memorable victory for ten-man England. After the match, England manager Thomas expressed mixed emotions about the win and Henderson's injury.

"My emotions are very mixed," the England boss said. "I'm just proud of the mentality and the attitude. Round of 32, round of 16 is the moment in tournaments where you find a way to win. We did it with pure mentality, with heart. We overcame every obstacle that was thrown at us. I am so proud of the mentality and the will of this team. It is a very, very special night for us."

Manager's Concern for Henderson

He added: "Mixed feelings also because I am exhausted, of course, and emotional, but also sad because Jordan got injured. He injured his wrist. He is at the moment at the hospital, so it is quite a serious injury. It just doesn't fit to the evening that Jordan is now not with us. I don't know the procedure what is going on. I just did the press, and the doc told me he's in hospital."

Quarter-Final Preview: England vs Norway

England's next challenge is a quarter-final against Norway in Miami on Saturday night. The fixture will see Guehi face Manchester City teammate Erling Haaland, who scored twice against Brazil to help his side reach the last eight. Haaland has netted seven goals in the tournament so far.

Guehi commented: "It's going to be fun. I know he'll be up for it too, and like Nico said, it'll be a challenge. It'll be good to see some familiar faces and we'll try to do our best and get a win."

City star Nico O'Reilly added: "It's special and a great feeling [to reach the quarter-final]. But we haven't really got time for celebrating, we've got another tough game coming and every team is going to be tough, so we've got to be ready."
