Rangers have received a fitness boost with medics giving Dujon Sterling the all-clear to feature at Dens Park on Saturday night. Record Sport understands the Englishman was put through his paces at training on Tuesday and came through with flying colours after being struck down with illness ahead of the weekend win over Kilmarnock.
Sterling's season of resurgence
Sterling lasted only 45 minutes of that match, sparking initial concerns that his season might have to be interrupted after missing the first six months of the previous campaign through injury. In fact, Sterling has played more minutes this season than he managed throughout the entirety of last year's campaign as he has become a key contributor under new manager Derek McInnes.
McInnes' selection boost
McInnes was understood to be delighted to see the versatile full-back report back to the training pitch at Auchenhowie, with his eyes set on a late night live TV showdown with high-flying Dundee. The manager is already without long term casualties Youssef Chermiti and Lawrence Shankland as well as Daisuke Yokota and Cammy Devlin for the trip to Tayside.
Top-flight momentum
Rangers will head north on the back of a six game winning top flight run with the chance to leapfrog champions Celtic into first place before Martin O'Neill's side welcome Hearts to Parkhead on Sunday afternoon.
