The 53rd annual PFA Awards Ceremony takes place in Manchester this evening, with eight prestigious awards up for grabs alongside the respective PFA Teams of the Year.
Arsenal trio Declan Rice, David Raya and Gabriel have been shortlisted for the PFA Players' Player of the Year after helping the Gunners clinch a first Premier League title in 22 years. They face strong competition from Manchester United captain Bruno Fernandes.
Fernandes targets historic award
Fernandes made history last season by breaking the Premier League assist record, previously held jointly by Thierry Henry and Kevin De Bruyne, as he helped Manchester United recover from a disappointing first half of the campaign to finish third under Michael Carrick.
The new record is 21, with the attacking midfielder also winning the Premier League Player of the Season and Football Writers' Association Footballer of the Year awards for his efforts. Fernandes could become the first Manchester United player to win the PFA Players' Player of the Year since Wayne Rooney in 2010.
Full shortlist and other awards
To do so, he must also overcome Manchester City pair Erling Haaland and Rayan Cherki. Haaland won the Golden Boot award after netting 27 goals, five more than Brentford's Igor Thiago.
Cherki is also up for the Young Player of the Year award, having made the shortlist alongside his Manchester City teammate Nico O'Reilly, as well as Max Dowman, Eli Junior Kroupi, Rio Ngumoha and Kobbie Mainoo.
The six other awards are the Women's PFA Players' Player of the Year, Women's PFA Young Player of the Year, WSL2 PFA Players' Player of the Year, Championship PFA Players' Player of the Year, League One PFA Players' Player of the Year and League Two PFA Players' Player of the Year.

The 53rd annual PFA Awards Ceremony will be streamed on the PFA's YouTube channel. The event gets underway at 4pm BST with a red carpet live stream, and the ceremony will then be streamed on YouTube throughout the evening.
