Moses Itauma has vowed to return after his heavyweight world title defeat to Filip Hrgovic. The British boxer was taken to hospital immediately after the fight, but has since broken his silence on social media.
Itauma's statement after defeat
In a post following the bout, Itauma said: "So yesterday wasn't my night. We attempted greatness, and we just fell short to the more experienced man."
He added: "I wanna say congratulations to Filip Hrgovic on his win, and although I never reached my desired outcome, I believe I gained experience that I'll take to my future fights."
Thanks to fans and promoters
Itauma also expressed gratitude to those who supported him, saying: "I wanna thank the fans in and outside the arena. You guys made it a little bit more special and a little bit more electrifying than I expected."
He concluded: "It was a f***ing good fight, and I wanna thank Queensberry and DAZN for putting this show on. So, God bless, take care, and I'll be back."
