Tyson Fury has described Anthony Joshua as little more than a warm-up for a trilogy fight with Oleksandr Usyk, insisting he will stop his British rival inside the first half of their December clash.
Battle of Britain set for Cardiff
Fury and Joshua will meet in the early hours of December 12 at the Principality Stadium in Cardiff, ending a decade-long rivalry between the two heavyweights. Fury enters the fight as the favourite and believes he will knock Joshua out before moving on to Usyk.
Fury has lost twice to Usyk but maintains he should have won both fights against the Ukrainian. Usyk recently vacated his world titles and plans to fight Deontay Wilder one more time, yet Fury is confident a third bout can be secured next spring.
Fury's warning to Joshua
Speaking to FurociTV, Fury said: "I'm just going to knock him out 100 per cent. I'm going to box the head off him and stop him inside six, seven rounds."
He added: "I'm only using Joshua as a stepping stone to Usyk. Joshua for me is an old dosser bum and a weightlifter. He lifts too many weights, doesn't have enough speed, and has no cardio. I'll cut through him like a hot knife through butter and then I want Usyk."
Fury wants Usyk in America
Fury also called for a potential Usyk trilogy to take place in the United States, saying: "I want him in America though, where I get a fair decision. I won the first two fights and I'll definitely get a decision here where it's fair."
He concluded: "I'm only using AJ as a f***ing heavy bag. I'll punch the f*** out of him and then move on to Usyk. AJ will give me a good warm-up before March next year."
