Brondby boss Thomas Norgaard has dismissed Luis Binks' claims that Danish referees are out to get him, insisting there is no agenda against the Scotland defender.
Binks, who has been included in Sebastien Pocognoli's new-look Scotland squad for the upcoming Nations League clashes, caused a stir in Denmark last week after claiming referees were targeting him. The Brondby skipper picked up his 15th booking in 33 games, leading to a suspension.
Binks' frustration
Binks said: "I just feel like there's a black mark on my name now. Some of the yellow cards are of course situations where I also have to look at myself, because it's not always the referees' fault. But I really feel like I'm a target right now."
However, Norgaard admitted he did not agree with his skipper, saying: "I have no reason to believe that there is anyone who has a mark placed in front of their name. Neither in Brøndby nor in other clubs."
Support from fans
Norgaard added: "Luis was a little down. He's really upset that he's suspended and about the number of yellow cards that he's got. I think the support from the fans has been strong for Luis. He sticks his neck out and sometimes you get a rap for it."
But ex-Danish referee Benjamin Leander insisted the Scotland hopeful had no one to blame but himself. He said: "The fact is that Luis Binks has received many yellow cards and every single one of them has been deserved. He's a warrior and he should be allowed to be that, but he needs to stop with those ridiculous conspiracy theories, because there's no basis in them."
