Wrexham have completed the signing of Sheffield United striker Kieffer Moore in a deal worth £2 million, according to reports. The Wales international is expected to be announced imminently after undergoing a medical at the weekend.
The move, reported by talkSPORT, has been agreed by all parties and makes Moore the club's eighth summer recruit. The 32-year-old scored six goals in 30 Championship appearances for the Blades last season, who narrowly missed out on promotion after losing the play-off final to Sunderland.
The acquisition of Moore is likely to end manager Phil Parkinson's pursuit of further attacking reinforcements, including any rumoured interest in former Leicester City striker Jamie Vardy. Wrexham, owned by Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney, had been heavily linked with an ambitious move for Vardy earlier in the window.
Moore's arrival brings the number of senior strikers at the club to eight. Parkinson has already sent two forwards out on loan: club talisman Paul Mullin joined Wigan Athletic, while Jake Bickerstaff moved to Cheltenham Town. Ollie Palmer could also be heading for the exit door.
Meanwhile, Wrexham are reportedly set to offer a loan move to Wolves' 19-year-old Brazilian right wing-back Pedro Lima, who joined the Premier League side from Sport Recife last summer but has struggled for regular minutes.
Sky Sports pundit Don Goodman believes a mid-table finish would be a respectable showing for Wrexham in the Championship. 'When I look at that squad, it looks like a bottom half Championship squad on paper,' he said. 'I would say anywhere between 10th to 15th would be good for Wrexham in terms of consolidating themselves.'
