The Championship match between Wolves and Cardiff City was brought to a sudden standstill when medical personnel rushed to attend to a fan.
Play was stopped after 28 minutes as medics were seen heading to the stand behind Wolves keeper Jose Sa's goal. The nature of the incident that sparked the emergency response has not been confirmed, though it appeared to be a medical situation.
Players Signal for Help
Sa and other players were spotted signalling urgently towards supporters in the home end before paramedics entered the pitch and the referee halted the game.
Reports from fans on social media suggested that spectators were "screaming for medical help" from the South Bank. Those in attendance commended Sa for his quick-thinking actions.
Match Resumes After Delay
The fixture was paused for several minutes before eventually restarting, with the Welsh side 2-0 down after a difficult opening period at Molineux.
Cardiff City posted on social media: "Play has now resumed following a delay, where the medical teams were called into the home end. While it is unclear what has occurred at this time, our thoughts are with those affected."
It was later reported that the fan affected was able to walk to the medical area at Molineux for further treatment.
Wolves Dominate After Restart
Once play resumed, Wolves went on to dominate, claiming a 3-0 lead shortly after half time, with goals coming from Fer Lopez, Adam Armstrong and Ladislav Krejčí.
