West Ham are preparing an opening offer for Wolves striker Jørgen Strand Larsen as they seek to bolster their survival chances in the Premier League. The Hammers, currently 18th in the table, are desperate for attacking reinforcements during the January transfer window.
Wolves are understood to value the Norwegian at around £40 million, despite Strand Larsen having scored only three league goals this season for the bottom-placed club. The 25-year-old impressed after joining from Celta Vigo in 2024, netting 14 times last term, but has struggled to replicate that form this campaign.
West Ham manager Nuno Espírito Santo has prioritised a striker with experience of English football, having also considered Coventry pair Ellis Simms and Haji Wright, as well as Viktoria Plzen’s Rafiu Durosinmi. Callum Wilson remains the only natural forward option at the London Stadium, with Jarrod Bowen and Crysencio Summerville recently deployed centrally.
In addition to attacking reinforcements, Nuno wants a new defender, but a loan move for Manchester City’s Nathan Aké has fallen through. West Ham are also pushing to sign Fulham winger Adama Traoré, who is out of favour at Craven Cottage and out of contract at the end of the season.
