Wolves Honour Diogo Jota with Hall of Fame Induction After Tragic Death

Former Wolves forward Diogo Jota has been posthumously inducted into the club's hall of fame following his death in a car crash in Spain on July 3. The 28-year-old Portugal international died alongside his brother Andre Silva.

Jota, who had just won the Premier League with Liverpool, began his English football career at Molineux, scoring 44 goals in 131 appearances between 2017 and 2020. His contribution has now been recognised by the independently run hall of fame committee.

Wolves hall of fame chairman and club vice president John Richards said: 'There is such a feeling of sadness and disbelief around this awful tragedy that we wanted to make this tribute of our own as soon as we could. His record of 44 goals at Wolves, and then 65 at Liverpool as a Premier League title winner, speaks volumes.'

Wolves plan further tributes, including a moment of remembrance at the home friendly against Celta Vigo and before the opening Premier League match against Manchester City.
