Florian Wirtz has acknowledged that his start at Liverpool was difficult following his £116 million summer move from Bayer Leverkusen. The German midfielder has had to bide his time before showing his best form at Anfield, but he now believes he is settling in and improving.
The 22-year-old enjoyed a productive international break with Germany, scoring two goals and providing two assists in their 4-3 win over Switzerland. His upturn in form has given him confidence as he looks to become a key player for Liverpool under manager Arne Slot.
Speaking to TNT Sports, Wirtz said: 'I know that they paid a lot for me. I still think that I'm improving, it was a difficult start for me because I wanted to impact the team immediately. I have to accept it, I'm feeling very good now on a physical level. I'm feeling good in England now because this was a big change for me, now I'm trying to make the team better.'
