Wales 2027 Six Nations tickets: Record £155 for England clash

Tickets for Wales' 2027 Six Nations home matches go on sale on Tuesday, with the top-priced ticket for the England clash set to become the most expensive in history.

The men's team, coached by Steve Tandy, host Ireland on February 20 and England on March 6 at the Principality Stadium. The women's side, led by Sean Lynn, play England on April 10 and Ireland on April 24. All four matches go on sale this week.

Record prices for premium seats

Following the new A+ seating category introduced for this year's Nations Championship, the WRU has applied the same structure to the Six Nations. For the England match on March 6, an A+ ticket costs £155, surpassing the previous high of £130 for the last two home Six Nations meetings with England.

For the Ireland clash on February 20, A+ tickets are £145.

More concessionary tickets than ever

The WRU says more than a quarter of seats are priced under £100, with U18s tickets at 50% of the cost and students receiving a 30% reduction. This means more concessionary tickets than ever before in the Six Nations.

The top four categories (A+, A, B, C) all cost over £100, with category C at £115 for the England match. In 2025, prices were frozen at 2023 rates, with Cat A at £130, Cat B at £120, Cat C at £115, and Cat D at £60.

For the first time, student discount tickets are available in the upper tier and U18s tickets in the lower tier for England and Ireland matches in Cardiff. This creates specific zones to cater for different fan experiences.

Comparison with England

Despite the increases, prices remain lower than at Allianz Twickenham, where premium seats are expected to exceed £200 next year.

Club commission scheme

In April, WRU chief operating officer Gavin Marshall told WalesOnline that the governing body was focused on growing revenue. He said: "I've been here six months, and where I see the opportunity is in growing revenue rather than cutting costs. I don't see a bloated organisation with people not adding value. I think we're lean."

He added: "We need to maximise matchday revenues and there's a real opportunity to drive food and beverage income. There's also a real opportunity to grow ticket income. We have changed our ticketing process for the autumn internationals, with more price categories and an opportunity to yield more from premium tickets. But we also need to be smarter in how we price games, because at the moment we're not selling out."

Marshall also highlighted the £2 per ticket commission for community clubs, saying: "We're encouraging supporters to buy tickets through their local club links. It's the first time we've done it, and we need to communicate it well, but with three games in November we could pass back up to £400,000 to clubs, which would be great."

This commission scheme, previously only for autumn internationals, now applies to the England home match, traditionally a sell-out, and for the first time in the women's game.

Tickets are available from clubs, debenture holders, and WRU Premium Supporters from Tuesday. Marshall said: "We strongly encourage supporters to buy from their local rugby clubs and to get in early, to avoid disappointment, with two huge home fixtures for both of our men's and women's national sides coming in 2027."

He added: "A ticket bought for a men's or women's rugby international from a Welsh club now earns £2 directly for that club and, from 1st October, supporters simply need to use the ticket links provided by their club to ensure it gets that money."
