Ruud van Nistelrooy is set to join Ronald Koeman’s backroom staff with the Netherlands national team, following his rejection for the Manchester United manager role.
The former United striker had been considered as a potential interim manager at Old Trafford until the end of the season, with the club ultimately appointing Michael Carrick instead.
Van Nistelrooy briefly took interim charge after Erik ten Hag’s sacking in October 2024, overseeing three wins and a draw before handing over to Ruben Amorim and subsequently leaving the club.
He then managed Leicester City from November 2024 but could not prevent their relegation from the Premier League, departing at the end of the campaign.
