The final Premier League fixture of the weekend takes place in London tonight, as Tottenham face Coventry at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.
Tottenham go into the game bottom of the table, having failed to win any of their opening six matches. However, results elsewhere have gone their way, and a victory over the promoted side would lift them out of the relegation zone.
Team News and Optimism at Spurs
Recent performances have offered cause for optimism in the Spurs camp, and head coach Roberto De Zerbi will hope the mid-season training camp in Spain provides a much-needed lift.
Confirmation of Dejan Kulusevski's imminent return to first-team action should also boost the atmosphere before kick-off. The Swede has not played a competitive minute for Spurs since May 2025 but will be in the matchday squad tonight, with any appearance off the bench likely to depend on the game state.
Coventry's Confidence and Historical Context
Coventry arrive in North London full of confidence after registering back-to-back wins over Nottingham Forest and Newcastle either side of the international break, kick-starting their survival bid.
In head coach Frank Lampard, formerly of Chelsea and West Ham, the visitors have someone familiar with winning away at Tottenham. This will be the first league meeting between the sides since March 2001, when Les Ferdinand scored in a 3-0 win for Spurs at White Hart Lane.
