Tottenham injury update: Marmoush, Udogie, Porro latest

Tottenham picked up four new injury concerns in their win over Coventry on Monday night, but several key players could return for Saturday's London derby against Chelsea.

Andy Robertson, Tosin Adarabioyo and Omar Marmoush were all forced off with problems in the second half, while Destiny Udogie was left out of the matchday squad altogether with a knee injury. There was better news, though, as James Maddison started and Dejan Kulusevski appeared for the first time in a year and a half.

Marmoush and Udogie doubts

Omar Marmoush scored a fine goal to make it 2-1 against Coventry but later pulled up holding his calf and was replaced by Mathys Tel. Manager Roberto De Zerbi played down the issue at full-time, saying: “No, no, no, I think there are no injuries, nothing important.”

Destiny Udogie was a surprise absentee, with De Zerbi telling Sky Sports the player had suffered a knee injury in last weekend's 1-1 draw at Manchester United. He said: "Destiny Udogie played 70 minutes and he suffered a problem in his knee and we didn't take a risk."

Porro, Savio and others

Pedro Porro is closing in on a comeback after a hamstring injury sustained early in the 3-2 loss to Aston Villa last month. De Zerbi said last week: “Pedro - I think - is not [out] for many games,” and Porro posted a video of himself rehabbing at Hotspur Way captioned “almost back.”

Savio suffered a muscular problem after the Manchester United draw, with De Zerbi explaining: "Unfortunately, Savio, on Tuesday before leaving for Marbella, felt a muscular problem and we have lost him for some weeks." He is pushing to return before the November international break.

Robertson and Adarabioyo

Andy Robertson pulled up with a problem in the second half against Coventry but played through it for about five minutes before being forced off. Tosin Adarabioyo, making his first Premier League start, went down for treatment at the same time with an apparent calf problem. De Zerbi seemed confident about both, saying: “No, no, no, I think there are no injuries, nothing important.”

Lucas Bergvall is out for two weeks after picking up a knee injury at Old Trafford, with De Zerbi explaining: "He felt pain in his knee but felt fine and on Sunday he came to the training ground and he'll be out for two weeks." Mykhailo Mudryk has been sidelined with an ankle injury expected to keep him out for six to eight weeks, while Xavi Simons is recovering from an ACL injury and is not expected back until the new year. Wilson Odobert, who tore his ACL in February, could return sooner than the usual nine-month timeline.
