Tottenham honour Kane with mural after Ballon d'Or win

Tottenham have marked Harry Kane's Ballon d'Or triumph with a digital mural of their former captain at the club's training ground.

Kane became the first Englishman in 25 years to claim the award on Monday night, beating Lamine Yamal and Kylian Mbappe to the honour.

Kane thanks Spurs in acceptance speech

Collecting the trophy at the London Palladium, Kane credited Tottenham for the role they played in shaping his career.

"I want to say thank you to Tottenham Hotspur, as well. I wouldn't be where I am today without Tottenham, for sure," Kane said.

"I was there from 11 years old. [With] all the guidance, the coaches, you allowed me to live my dream. So, for sure, without all those moments together, all the ups and down along the way of that journey has led me to this moment here today. So I just want to say thank you to Tottenham Hotspur."

Mural unveiled at Hotspur Way

Despite leaving Spurs three years ago, Kane's connection to the club has remained strong. The club has commemorated his Ballon d'Or win with a picture of him under the words "One of our own" in the media centre at Hotspur Way.

Kane joined Spurs at the age of 11 and scored 280 goals in 435 appearances for the north London club before joining Bayern Munich in 2023.

Strong form since Bayern move

The 33-year-old, who captained England to the World Cup semi-finals this summer, has continued to impress since signing for Bayern, netting 73 goals in all competitions for club and country last season.
