Channel 5's period drama The Hardacres returns for a second season tonight, with new cast members and a first look at the upcoming episodes. The series, set in 1895, follows the Hardacre family as they navigate the arrival of electricity and shifting loyalties at Hardacre Hall.
New faces joining the cast include Michele Dotrice as Lady Imelda Hansen, Niall McNamee as Edward Blackwood, and Edward Mitchell as Arthur Lewis. They join returning stars Claire Cooper, Liam McMahon, Julie Graham, Adam Little, Shannon Lavelle, and Zak Ford-Williams.
The show is produced by Playground, the same studio behind Channel 5's hit drama All Creatures Great and Small. Season 2 sees Mary and Sam Hardacre embracing wealth and opportunity, while their children forge identities that challenge expectations.
The series was commissioned by Sebastian Cardwell and Paul Testar at Paramount UK. Executive producers include Colin Callender, David Stern, Lesley McKimm, Simon Cox, and Kate McColgan. Banijay Rights handles distribution.
