Ten people were injured after severe turbulence struck a Cathay Pacific flight from Brisbane, Australia, to Hong Kong. The incident occurred on flight CX156, an Airbus A350-900 carrying up to 240 passengers, approximately two hours before its scheduled arrival on Sunday, according to 9 News.
Details of the Incident
Six cabin crew members and four passengers reported minor injuries as a result of the turbulence. Eight individuals were subsequently sent to hospital for further medical evaluation and care. One passenger described the experience to the South China Morning Post as feeling like "free-falling from a drop tower."
Response and Landing
The aircraft landed safely at Hong Kong International Airport, where medical response teams met the flight on the runway. Emergency services were on standby to assist the injured passengers and crew.
