Swansea City winger Moussa Yeo is facing up to three weeks on the sidelines after suffering a suspected hamstring injury, adding to a difficult weekend for the club.
Head coach Vitor Matos confirmed the news after Yeo missed the 5-0 defeat at Queens Park Rangers on Saturday. The loss at Loftus Road marked back-to-back league defeats for the first time this season, a result that left the Swans second in the Championship table.
Injury setback for in-form winger
Yeo has made an impressive start to life at Swansea since joining from RB Salzburg in the summer, scoring three goals. His injury follows the loss of Ronald, who looks set to be sidelined for around two months.
"Moussa felt his hamstring after West Ham. We assessed during the week to see how he could handle the situation. In the end we needed to do a scan. The scan showed an injury there. So he will be out for around two to three weeks," Matos said.
Cover options under consideration
Matos will need to find a solution for the visit of Blackburn Rovers on Saturday, with Korean winger Eom Jisung the most likely candidate to step in. Teenager Jeremy Monga could also be in contention after being included in the matchday squad at Loftus Road for the first time since his deadline day loan move from Manchester City.
"Of course losing Moussa is not the best for us, but we have a strong squad and we will find a way to cover his absence," Matos added. "I think that's a natural question and a natural situation than when of course when one winger is injured that creates a gap. That is a space for another player to fill. Jeremy is one of our players. He's training well. I think he's getting step-by-step much more used to us and much more used to the environment and that's good."
