Swansea City produced a remarkable late turnaround to knock Nottingham Forest out of the Carabao Cup, scoring twice in the final four minutes of stoppage time to win 3-2 at the Swansea.com Stadium.
Forest had looked in control after Igor Jesus scored his first goals for the club to give the visitors a two-goal half-time lead. But Cameron Burgess pulled one back in the 74th minute, heading in Eom Ji-sung's corner, before substitute Zan Vipotnik equalised in the 93rd minute from Liam Cullen's cross.
Deep into added time, Ethan Galbraith's 25-yard effort struck the upright and Burgess thumped in the rebound to spark wild celebrations. "I had Malick Yalcouyé jumping on my back but I was quite calm," said Swansea head coach Alan Sheehan. "I was looking at the clock because with 30 seconds left they are a team that can put the ball in the top corner."
For Forest head coach Ange Postecoglou, the defeat extended his wait for a first win in charge. "We put them through a tough night," he said. "We are out of a cup competition we should have progressed in. I sensed the players thought it was going to happen automatically."
Postecoglou had introduced Morgan Gibbs-White and Callum Hudson-Odoi in the second half, and Andy Fisher made a fine save to deny Hudson-Odoi, but Forest could not hold on. "We are going to have to earn everything we get, it's not just going to come to us," added Postecoglou, whose side visit Burnley on Saturday.
