Student Survives 37 Hours Lost on Mountain with Choco Pies

A 19-year-old Vietnamese student, Nguyen Tuan Anh, has become a viral sensation after surviving nearly two days lost on Tam Dao mountain. Mr Anh became separated from his hiking group on 19 April after becoming exhausted and disoriented in the rugged terrain and dense fog.

Survival Strategy

He carefully rationed his only food, popular South Korean Orion Choco Pies, and drank water from a stream to stay hydrated. The student managed to stretch his limited supplies over the 37-hour ordeal.

Rescue Operation

A large-scale search operation involving hundreds of officers and rescue teams was launched after his companions reported him missing. Mr Anh was found exhausted but in stable condition on 21 April, still possessing four Choco Pies.
