The former Nottingham Forest defender, known for his passionate playing style, told the Independent how ITV Sport arranged for him to provide analysis from The Spread Eagle in Gloucester city centre during the tournament held in England.

Pearce explained: "My first taste of punditry was for ITV during Euro 96. They didn't have me in the studio - they sent me to a pub in Gloucester called The Spread Eagle."
