Tottenham Hotspur teenager Luca Williams-Barnett delivered another impressive performance as England secured their place in the knockout stages of the U17 World Cup with a 3-0 victory over Egypt.
The 17-year-old started the match and provided a brilliant assist for Reigan Heskey's second goal. Williams-Barnett collected the ball on the edge of his own box from a free-kick, flicked it past a defender, drove forward, and played a precise pass through to Heskey, who coolly slotted past the goalkeeper.
Seven minutes later, Williams-Barnett was played in behind after a clever one-two and was brought down, winning a penalty for the Young Lions. However, Heskey was unable to complete his hat-trick as he missed from the spot.
Williams-Barnett had been on the bench for England's tournament opener, a 3-0 defeat to Venezuela, but came into the starting lineup for the 8-1 win over Haiti, scoring twice. He opened the scoring inside a minute and added his second with sublime footwork, skipping past challenges in the box to finish well.
England have qualified for the round of 32 after finishing second in Group E behind Venezuela. The top two in each of the 12 groups go through, along with the eight best third-placed teams.
