Snoop Dogg's Premier League Vision for Swansea City After Investment
Snoop Dogg's Premier League Dream for Swansea City

American music icon Snoop Dogg has declared his ambition to be "real hands on" in driving Swansea City back to the Premier League, following his surprise investment in the Championship club. The rapper and producer confirmed his involvement with the Welsh side last summer, and he has now outlined his bold vision for the team's future.

Snoop Dogg's Investment and Vision

Snoop Dogg joined Swansea City as an investor in July, alongside Croatian midfielder Luka Modric, with businesswoman and television personality Martha Stewart also becoming a minority co-owner in December. Speaking to Wales Online, Snoop Dogg emphasised his commitment to the project, stating: "I want to be real hands on, I want to take the club in a direction maybe it hasn't been before."

He added: "We want to take Swansea to the Premier League, and to do that we are going to need money - that's the reality of the game these days." This financial acknowledgment highlights the competitive nature of modern football, where investment is crucial for success.

Optimism Despite Current Standings

Despite Swansea sitting 16th in the Championship, well outside the play-off spots with over half the season played, the 54-year-old American remains optimistic. He noted: "It's been steady and even though Swansea is a long-term project, we got to still dream for this season."

Snoop Dogg emphasised the enduring hope in the division, saying: "In the Championship you always got to believe that play-off place is alive, in this game you got to dream." This positive outlook reflects his determination to inspire the club and its supporters.

Engaging with Passionate Supporters

The rapper also expressed his admiration for Swansea City's fans, indicating a desire to engage directly with them. He concluded: "These fans are passionate, they are real, and I want to hear what they got to say when I am in Swansea." This approach suggests a focus on community and fan involvement in his plans.

Swansea's Premier League History

Swansea were previously promoted to the Premier League in 2011 under Brendan Rodgers and went on to win the League Cup two years later. However, they were relegated from the top tier in 2018 and have not returned to the Premier League in the eight years since. Snoop Dogg's investment aims to break this cycle and restore the club to its former glory.

His involvement brings a unique blend of celebrity influence and business acumen to the Championship, potentially reshaping Swansea's trajectory in the coming seasons.
